Does contemplating writing a song bring about immediate writer's block and floods of frustration? Then let the superlative skills of Australia’s greatest singer/songwriters help demystify the elusive songwriting process for you.

Song Trails is a series of free songwriting workshops in which participants (aged 14 years and over) can tap into the wealth of skill and experience of specially selected workshop leaders, learning from them the artistry and techniques required to finally complete that self-penned masterpiece.

Song Trails South has been curated by country music queen and multi Golden Guitar winner Melinda Schneider. Songwriters joining Melinda include Mark Gable, guitarist from The Choirboys, Mondo Rock’s guitarist, Eric Mc McCusker and Leah Flanagan, indigenous folk performer.

While travelling between locations, the Song Trailers will be writing songs together about the places they visit and the people they meet to present in a show-and-tell finale performance of songs and stories at Brisbane Powerhouse.
