Opera at Jimbour

Featuring Maggie, Katie, Brian and Tyrone Noonan.

The ever-popular Opera at Jimbour, a regular feature of Queensland Music Festival’s program, will this year highlight the extraordinary contribution made by the Noonan family to Queensland’s arts and cultural landscape. Join the Noonan family in this special event at historic Jimbour House.

The highly acclaimed Noonan family will, for the first time, perform together, as their story of life and song is woven in between their solo, duo and four-part harmony performances. Tyrone and Katie will present ARIA Award-winning songs they created for their band, george, as well as selections from their solo albums. Maggie and Brian will delight with popular operatic arias and uplifting contemporary songs.

Providing musical accompaniment will be the forty-seven piece Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Guy Noble, plus a jazz quintet made up of Brisbane’s finest; Jamie Clark, Zac Hurren, Owen Newcomb, Steven Newcomb and John Parker. Iconic Australian actor Barry Otto will host. Directed by Lewis Jones.

Bring a blanket and cushions. Local market stalls will operate from 10am. Patrons may bring their own picnic, purchase food from stalls on the day or pre-order picnic hampers from Jimbour Station Cellar Door at info@jimbour.com or 07 46636221.
