Tom Cooney
Hailing from Queensland, Brisbane based singer-songwriter Tom Cooney’s debut album, ‘Presque Vu’, showcases Cooney’ beautifully haunting voice and exceptional classically-trained guitar skills.
Tom has made an impression on those fortunate enough to encounter this young artist since his first live performances in 2005, and subsequent mini album release ‘Hold Me Down’ during the year following. Credited with a ‘mesmerising’ voice by Brisbane’s Sunday Mail, Cooney was inspired by artists that write direct from the heart, including Denison Witmer, Wilco and Ryan Adams.
Tom has performed alongside the likes of M. Ward and Fionn Regan, as well as playing in front of audiences at Homebake in 2006, and Splendour in the Grass in 2007. Cooney has such a way with words and unique phrasing of melodies that makes your heart melt a little, feeling his sadness, passion and longing.
