Southern Cross Soloists
Since their formation in 1995, Southern Cross Soloists (SxS) has established a firm reputation as one of the most respected, innovative and exciting music ensembles in Australia, developing an international reputation for ground-breaking performance along the way.
Southern Cross Soloists is currently Ensemble in Residence at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, as well as Company in residence at QPAC. SxS maintains a busy schedule of performing, teaching, conducting, presenting master classes and recording. It has undertaken successful international tours to the USA, New Zealand, China, Canada and South Korea and makes national tours within Australia each year.
The group features six of Australia’s leading musicians: Director and clarinettist Paul Dean, bassoonist Leesa Dean, oboist Tania Frazer, lyric soprano Margaret Schindler, horn player Peter Luff and pianist Kevin Power.
