Peter Farnan
Former songwriter and guitarist of iconic Australian rock band ‘Boom Crash Opera’ and seminal post punk outfit ‘Serious Young Insects’, Peter Farnan is an Australian music legend. An accomplished composer, producer, sound designer and teacher, Peter has co-written and produced a number of successful pop and rock records for artists including The Sharp, Rachael Kane and Crying In Public Places.
Peter is now established as a theatre composer, musical director and sound designer. His work with companies such as Malthouse and Melbourne Theatre Ccompany has earned him Helpmann and Green Room Award nominations. His most recent work was as Musical Director and additional composer for Woyzeck at Malthouse, which featured music by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis and starred (amongst others) Tim Rogers.
Peter also teaches songwriting, performance and music technology to degree students at Box Hill Institute.
