John Butler
Passionate, compelling and down-right talented, John Butler is widely considered Australia’s most successful independent artist. Since his days busking the streets of Fremantle, Butler has infected audiences across Australia and throughout the world with his fervent lyrics and moving melodies: inspiring change one song at a time.
For Butler social activism and music are synonymous. An avid advocate of social justice, the environment and supporter of the arts, Butler has long averted ticket and album sales to worthwhile causes. Notably the JBSeed project, an innovative arts grant fund created with wife Daniella Caruana.
2009 sees Butler’s return home after an extensive, highly-acclaimed tour of North America and Europe, with band the John Butler Trio. Cannot Buy My Soul will be one of the few exclusive performances of 2009 before Butler goes back to the studio to record the band’s fifth album later this year.
