Eric McCusker

Born in Ireland and growing up on the beach in Sydney, Eric McCusker’s first gig in a band was in high school, with Renee Geyer. In 1979, after working with John English, Stevie Wright and Ross Ryan, Eric moved to Melbourne to join the Captain Matchbox Band.

The next year, at the beginning of a decade of seminal Australian rock music, Eric joined Mondo Rock as guitarist and writer of State of the Heart, Summer of ‘81 and Come Said The Boy. He songs have been covered by Rick Springfield, John Farnham and Paul Rodgers.

Eric spent the 90’s raising two kids with wife Jenee and playing with The Wolfgramm Sisters, working in music education and as a board member of APRA, a position he still holds. Since 2000, Eric has been back working with Ross Wilson in the Urban Legends and from time to time, in the reformed Mondo Rock.
