Brisbane-born actor has graced Australian stages in all forms of media all of his life. His theatre credits include

Barry is the recipient of the 1991 and 1994 Green Room Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Marriage of Figaro and Cosi, the1985 and 1992 Film Critics’ Circle Award for Bliss and Strictly Ballroom, as well as the AFI Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Strictly Ballroom produced in 1993.
